Getting Ready for Class Tonight

Tonight, we'll begin with a time of "guided prayer." We'll give you a list of topics, and then pray silently together...which I think will give us some time to "be still" and "know He is God."

Then, we'll take a look at Jeremiah, the Old Testament prophet.

Take a look at Jeremiah 1, and see his objections and how God rebuts them.

Take a look at Jeremiah 7, and see what irritates God.

Finally, look at Jeremiah 19, and ask yourself what was the purpose of this illustration.

See you all at 6:30PM, and don't forget that we have baptisms after the 4th service!

Getting Ready for Class Tonight

If you're a senior, don't forget that Brent is teaching in "big church" this week, so Steve-O will be teaching, and Kristy will be leading worship with Nathan. Steve's got a lot on his mind, too, so you'll want to come and hear what he's got to say on a variety of topics.

Class starts at 6:30PM, and we'll see you there!

Christ is Risen, Indeed!

We all hope you enjoyed the Labyrinth, the Seder, the family picnic...

...which leaves us with tomorrow.

Resurrection Sunday.

I really believe one of our more meaningful services will be our Sunrise Service at CBC at 6:30AM. We'll have communion together to celebrate, with Amie & Kristy Brown leading worship and Dave Semmelbeck teaching. But make sure to bring your own chairs and blankets to sit on!

Also, we'll be having four traditional services...at 7:30AM, 9AM, 10:30AM and noon.

Have a wonderful Easter!

Getting Ready for Class Tonight

We'll be finishing up our final section of our 3-week look at the events leading up to Easter. Tonight, we'll take a look at what happens from Thursday night forward, from the Last Supper to the Crucifixion to the Resurrection...

...and we'll be using the Biblical accounts from Luke & John to help us with our "time line" approach. We'll also be seeing a few clips from The Passion and The Chronicles of Narnia to bring the passages to life.

To cap things off, Steve and Kristy will be leading us in communion to wrap up this series...so we'll see you in class tonight at 6:30PM!

Getting Ready for Class Tonight

You'll want to take a look at John 12: 1--9. This event actually took place a few days before the Triumphal Entry we looked at last week (did you get your marble?!)...but I think it's an important one as we see a certain dynamic regarding worship.

Also, you'll want to take a look through Mark 11: 11--25. Why would Jesus behave this way? Why do you think he was so passionate about it? What was the reaction of leadership? Finally, what do you make of Jesus cursing the fig tree in the last half of this section?

And, we'll be taking a look at a scene from Wayne's World, too. So, we'll see you at 6:30PM (you should've had your clocks ahead an hour by this time if you forgot in the morning!)
